All movies competing in the upcoming Fajr Film Festival will be screened across numerous cinema halls in the Iranian capital city of Tehran.

Twelve cinemas and cineplexes across Tehran, consisting of 22 halls, will screen the movies competing in the 36th edition of the Fajr Film Festival from February 1-11.

The venues were chosen based on the screening quality they offer and geographical diversity so that those interested would have convenient access from different parts of the sprawling capital, said Mohmmadreza Faraji, an official with the festival.

25 films will be screened at the Esteqlal, Arikeh Iranian, Javan, Farhang and Mandana cinemas as well as Magamall, Kourosh, Charsou, Tamasha, Raga, Kian and Azadi cineplexes cinema halls.

Films competing at the Fajr festival are up for Crystal Simorgh awards.
